PHILIPThe God-King

The God King, like the Tarot's Emperor in divine form, wields absolute power, merging the mortal with the divine. He is both ruler and deity, an Alexander or Pharaoh who bridges the worlds of men and gods. Yet the skull reminds him that he, too, is bound by mortality, his crown ultimately powerless against time. In myth, the God King is both feared and revered, representing humanity's aspiration to transcend and control fate. This archetype confronts spiritual truths: power, however vast, is ultimately limited by life's ephemerality. The God King embodies the philosophical quandary of mortality, a life ruled by both temporal and divine mandates − a reminder that even the mightiest will fall.
