The Machiavellian is The Devil card in Tarot, wielding influence with cunning and strategic brilliance. Like Machiavelli's own principles, this archetype suggests that morality is often sacrificed for power, that ends justify the means. In the shadows of politics, he manoeuvres with skill and detachment, embodying the skull's reminder of ambition's fleeting nature. He reflects on life's paradoxes, showing how power can corrupt but also build empires. His presence suggests a cautionary tale − an embodiment of the Buddhist view that attachment to control leads only to suffering. The Machiavellian's world is a labyrinth where power is everything and nothing, ultimately consumed by time.
