PETEThe Wronged

The Wronged questions how history judges us and how we face death and legacy. Branded a villain, he remains a reminder of the subjective nature of truth and morality. His skull, unearthed centuries later, embodies the notion of the reclamation of dignity denied in life. This archetype is akin to the Tarot's Hanged Man, a figure sacrificed for perception, his life reinterpreted by the victors. Through him, we contemplate our own legacy: will we be remembered fairly? History, like life, is ephemeral, controlled by the victor, and elusive, inviting us to examine not just what is remembered but why, and by whom, challenging us to embrace life on our terms. The Wronged carries the weight of misjudgement, their skull a relic of vilified legacy, echoing the Tarot's Justice reversed − a fractured balance. In myth and history, they embody the tragedy of power distorted, a reminder of life's fickle narratives. Through Buddhist impermanence, their suffering reveals truth: all stories dissolve in time.
